This suite's additional features for Windows, the premium password manager and the file encryption Vault, both appear on the Data page, as you might expect. A big Scan button in the middle anchors the main window, and four round icons across the top give you access to four groups of security features: Device, Privacy, Data, and Family. If it weren't for the program title at top left, you couldn't distinguish the Windows protection of this mega-suite from Trend Micro's entry-level suite or, for that matter, from the standalone Trend Micro antivirus.

In addition, this suite supports Android and iOS while the entry-level suite is just for macOS and Windows. Supposing you use all five Trend Micro Maximum Security licenses, they cost you $17.99 apiece. On a per-device basis, this suite is a better deal than Trend Micro Internet Security, which runs roughly $26.65 apiece for its three licenses. However, in the latest release that price gets you 10, not 20, effectively doubling the per-device price. Kaspersky Security Cloud used to offer a $149.99 subscription with 20 licenses, which for many users would be just as good as unlimited.

Speaking of unlimited licenses, a $159.99 subscription to McAfee Total Protection lets you install protection on every Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS device in your household, and it also comes with VPN and identity protection.

As with Trend Micro, you can’t just get more licenses-you must upgrade to a higher-level product. Another bump of $100 brings you to the Ultimate Plus level, with maximum reimbursements from LifeLock, 500GB of storage, and unlimited security and VPN licenses.
Upgrading to the Advantage edition (for $100 more) gets enhanced LifeLock protection, 250GB of storage, and 10 apiece security and VPN licenses. For $149.99 per year, Norton 360 with LifeLock Select gives you five security suite licenses, five no-limits VPN licenses, 100GB of online storage, and basic LifeLock identity theft protection. This isn’t a common pricing style, but Norton does something similar. You get one antivirus license, three for the entry-level suite, five for Maximum Security (reviewed here), and 10 for the over-the-top Premium Security. To be clear, Trend Micro’s products each come with a fixed number of licenses. That option is gone, replaced by the $139.95 Trend Micro Premium security bundle, which I’ll describe below. Previously Maximum Security came in a 10-license pack for $99.95. Bitdefender and Check Point ZoneAlarm Extreme Security also give you five licenses for just under $90. You can use those licenses on Windows, macOS, Android, or iOS devices. Your $89.95 yearly subscription gets you five licenses. How Much Does Trend Micro Maximum Security Whatever the platform, it's got your security covered. Trend Micro Maximum Security provides advanced protection for Windows and Android devices, does more than the basics on macOS, and even goes beyond what most competitors offer as security for iOS. But for truly comprehensive security, you have to also extend protection to those mobile devices that occupy so much of your attention. Maybe you’re security-smart enough to protect your Macs with an antivirus, too.
